How Does India Feel About Dating Outside Your Ethnicity?

July 10th, 2009 by i may help | Filed under India.

Exactly, how would some of you parents feel? If your son or daughter would come back to india from usa. And tell you they fell in love with a non indian american. Lets say Caucasian, Hispanic, etc. Could you , would you or has any indian ever accepted their kids to marry a non indian?

I am an Indian .I have 2 daughters and 1 son. If any one of them come and say to me that he want to marry a non indian,I will have no objection at all, instead I will be happy that my grandchildren will be a mixed breed .I do-not see any problem with this.I know so many Indians whose childern are married to non Indians and they are happly married. In fact my elder daughter is married out of cast,so what, who cares these days about cast, nationality or color.Indian peoples thinking has changed a lot in last 2 decades

WOw – are you in love with an INdian?
If so be prepared for a whole lotta hate to be coming your way.
My dad’s from Punjabi (north India) and he married my mum who’s a mexican… Long story short my dad had a HUGE bust-up with his family (mind you my mum’s weren’t exactly chuffed either) and when I was born I saw my dad’s family once n they just gave me weird looks.. I haven’t spoken to them before but my mum’s side’s kwl – whenever I do feel down about my dad’s side not wanting to know me they’re always like well who needs them u look like a guapa mexicana anyway! Anyways hope this helps! xxxx

There are a number of Indian ladies at my University who seem to think I’m cute and love it when I come over and talk/flirt with them. However I never went beyond that point, so I dunno if they’d be allowed to take me home or not.

Most of the parents in India have shred their conservative shield and are adaptable to such situations. With so many Indians working all over the world one is not surprised if any such thing happens. Majority accept for such marriages.

I am an Indian and If you talk about Indian, you will find that most of the people didn’t except love marriage and you told about foreign affairs. Too hard to except this.

The basic customs are strictly followed in India. But if it is a one day affair every thing is accepted.
