   Samuel Johnson, the famous lexicographer of 18th century England, defined “Politics” as “the last refuge of a scoundrel”
   Scoundrel means an unscruoulous person, rogue or villain.
   What was the last refuge in Engand in 18th century became
   the first vocation for many good and bad citizens of independent India in its early decades.
   Now, as never before all are involved in politics. By politician we mean the full time politicians and to whom politics is a “vocation”. Among them many leave much to be desired , while a few are of unimpeachable character , no doubt!

   Who the hell said that politics is only for gangsters?????
   That is just because ‘decent’ people are too s**t scared to stand up and fight in politics. These ‘decent’ people are only able to criticise from outside. India does not need such decency!

   It is not for nothing that it has been said that politics is the last refuge of scoundrels.Also, to
   enter the field and world of politics one has to have a very large bank balance which common
   people do not possess.Gangsterism is a means
   for amassing wealth quickly.Further, by entering politics,gangsters secure immunity
   from prosecution by the law.They get respectability too.Is it any wonder that
   gangsters are flocking to join leading political parties to buy their way out of grief that is always hovering over their lives?
