if i bring in a motor bike (motor cycle) from the us to india how much is the custom duty and what is the procedure? what is an excise duty? does it apply on imported motor bikes? i am thinking about buying a used motor bike which would cost me around $4000 (Four Thousand) so i just wanted to get a rough idea about how much it will cost me after the custom and any other taxes. also what if its a gift for me?

trust me i tried it…its not worth it…u are better off buyin a sports bike from one of the sport bike dealers in mumbai..the final price comes off to the same as to import one but saves u the hassel of the paperwork and customs

for cars its about 150% …..for two wheelers i guess the tax is about 75 to 80%….i dont know about the formalities
