I think we should not answer back to our superiors/seniors in front of boss, that amounts indiscipline and disrespect to your senior. That might worsen the relationship and u would be blacklisted for ever. Office politics is a universal phenomenon and you have to go with it. Keep silence when u are urged to hit back, let the situation pass by. Everything will be okay later. I don’t mean that you should adopt defeatist attitude. When u are sure that you are right, certainly reply back politely without being offensive.
